Joel Mull

From his beginnings in Stockholm, he’s been a preacher of the underground gospel and a key part in redefining Sweden’s music persona. Running side by side with the likes of Adam Beyer, Jesper Dahlback, and Cari Lekebusch his thundering take on techno rarely shifts from the kick heavy sound that has become Sweden’s signature accent.
 
Previous releases with the likes of Cocoon, Drumcode and Saved show his ability to balance sounds from across a spectrum with sturdy rhythms, chords, and melody to create soundscapes suited to both festival and basement. This mix from energetic percussions and deep synths to lighter, vocal featured techno can be seen across the 4 tracks ‘Track Of The Night’, ‘Open’, ‘Tintins Journey’ and ‘Towards The Sun’.
 
Last Night On Earth hits the spot once more, with this solid slice of techno and another display of the label’s diversity and ability to pluck talent from the far corners of every genre.

Inxec VS Droog

The Last Night On Earth name is spreading like wildfire, due to some hugely successful releases that have garnered worldwide acclaim. The newest release from Last Night On Earth brings together a popular pairing - known for their collaborations and combined remixes, studio partners Inxec Vs Droog present their ‘Wide Open’ EP on 25th February.

In their own right, this duo make up two very well established names in the house and techno community... UK born Inxec comes straight out of the Nottingham club scene and along with close friend Matt Tolfrey, has an impressive roster of releases on high class labels under his belt. Droog is the DJ collective of Andrei Osyka, Brett Griffin and Justin Sloe - the Culprit label owners have steadily built a reputation as one of the leading purveyors of forward thinking dance music, in Los Angeles and beyond with parties boasting the likes of Jamie Jones, Steve Bug, Visionquest, Nicolas Jaar and many more.

This couple come together once more to create another master mix of bounce, bass, electronic and atmospheric blends with ‘Wide Open’ and ‘Mountain Drop’. The two track EP is latest in a series of diverse electronic tracks with the inevitably slick Last Night On Earth touch.

Underneath levels of melodic modernity and deep buried baselines, comes an EP from brother, sister duo KNOX. The Here EP on Sasha’s imprint Last Night on Earth, is a rich slate of electronica at its best, featuring 3 original tracks, with 2 remixes from John Tejada & kuxxan-Suum.

Here will appeal to many different pallets, its foundation is electronica, with dashes of dub, intricate nuances, and ethereal vocals, the track is subtle yet powerful. The John Tejada remix is purely for the dancefloor, and is a sonically luscious house track.

Fault is more of a stripped back rocktronic number, which would sit perfectly amongst the likes of The XX, Portishead and Massive Attack… An epic soundscape with delicate vocals from Nic & Eliza.

Morning is as hypnotic as a lullaby, a sweet song with delicate vocals from Eliza. Gorgeous. And to round off the EP, the guys have enlisted the galactic kuxxan SUUM to remix Here with a wicked array of scratchy beats and bleeps.

Hunter/Game

Hunter/Game project was born thanks to the artistic inspiration of two Italian producers based between Milan and New York. They perform secret loft parties, in which they are able to express their unique sound. The sound comes from a deep groove and it evolves thanks to electronic and pop influences, while keeping techno inspiration as its main element. And it’s this sound that pricked the ears of Sasha, who instantly snapped up their single An Angel as the latest single for his label, Last Night on Earth. A single that adds another dimension to the label, An Angel will be released on the 22nd October digital only. The rich bass, mellow vocals and eerie percussion introduced in An Angel builds suspense that’s consistent throughout the EP. With deep grooves fixed firmly in Techno, each track stays dark and twisted from the grave synths and worn out male vocals in ‘Novox’, to the rumbling bass and speech in ‘Your Essence’.

Sasha's label Last Night On Earth continues to go from strength to strength, from releasing a wide range of eclectic electronic music. Along with releases from established artists, the label continues to build careers for upcoming talent. The next release from ThermalBear is an example of the young producers coming through. Dennis White aka ThermalBear was chosen by Sasha as someone who stood out from the crowd with his classical take on modern electronic dance music. His single 'U Love' featuring vocals from Maiday is an expertly crafted piece of electronic brilliance. The track, with its cleverly programmed drums and haunting synths, captures the listener and is sure to be one of those tracks that plays over and over in your head. Sasha provides a deeper take on the original with his remix. Transforming 'U Love' into a sound that Sasha does better than anyone and in the way we have all admired and loved over the years. My Favorite Robot

Sasha's Last Night on Earth continue with their ethic of releasing the highest quality electronic music. This time sees Toronto's My Favorite Robot deliver their Occupation EP. Following on from a successful release on Life and Death which featured mixes from Photek and Mano Le Tough as well as their debut appearance at Ibiza's infamous Circo Loco party at DC-10, they supply two superbly crafted tracks. Both tracks on the EP, 'The Liability Within' and 'Wired' which features Phonogenic on hand with production duties, are full of analog warmth and technically brilliant programming. Assets of which are clear to see in all MFR productions and with previous releases on Visionquest and Crosstown Rebels it shows why they are so hotly tipped for this year.
