Bobmo
Bobmo "Sonic Soul" EP will be out on Marble, April 15th.
"Sonic Soul" is a Homeworkian slab of tunnel house where distant sounds of cars braking and syzzurped electroclash build ups collide in a mist of smoke.
"Werk it" is a discussion between 2007 Bobmo and Motor City Drum Ensemble-obsessed Bobmo. A sweaty and commanding slow-burner built for late night clubbing in a time/space portabetween Paris and 1996 New York.
"Hot Spot" sounds like setting fire to your ex-girlfriend's stuff and dancing on the ashes while punching the air and stomping the floor, with a smile. Leather Electro Revenge.

Para One
When The Night (feat. Jaw)", a joyous soulful vocal number taken from the Passion album by Para One, has just been given the remix treatment by three Parisian artists who share Marble's freestyle quality ethos.
Logo designed a maximal-minimal techno beat driven by a bassline autistically spiralling into a vortex of gray matter and shiny, crisp synths on the other side.
DVNO does a fine job at slowing things down, and gives a spare, sinister feeling and a robotic pace to the previously hot and hyperactive original.
Discodeine's version activates their trademark (pseudo-) live feel, and manages to make the song sound both warm-hearted and inherently vicious, like some android doing a really good job at mimicking our feelings. The EP comes with instrumental and vocal versions of the original.

Symphony Hall (Riton & Canblaster)
Buy it on iTunes & Beatport
Symphony Hall is a one time collaboration between U.K. hero Riton and Club Cheval member Canblaster. One Night Stand, featuring Jay Norton : quality sexual activity is a common topic in pop music, and erotic prowess as much as short-term intercourse are often used as material for lyrics or functionality suggestions. We, at Marble, decided to release a track willingly unfocused on hot sex, and only dedicated to sweet love and epic tenderness. You know, the kind of dizzy vibe you get when you have a major crush on someone – so major it makes you feel like a 15 year old ending up in a bedroom with said crush : soft-dicked, but dazed and happy. That's exactly what this track is about : definitely not for a one night stand, and clearly the beginning of of long, smooth love story you really need, just right now. This is classic, delicous tumblR&B, laced with clear, fragile synth chords, digital slowjam beats and Jay Norton's unmissable British accent. Metal Arrives is a blunt and bipolar track paying homage to UK rave, built on the tightest, most severe electrofunk beat ever and a megalomaniac bassline. Ardkore piano vamps do their job on the bright side of the track. As a bonus, FX galore : absurd screeches, rubbery stuff, fake motor sound and grime snippets. Made to rock parties instantaneously.

Para One
Para One's second album "Passion" will be released on Marble/Because Music on June 18th, 2012.
This a new shift in Para One’s career : the album feels much warmer and confortable than his previous work. It’s also much poppier and has a fine number of true hits, complete with vocals from Tekilatex, Irfane and Jaw. The Euro-neurotic’s tension is still there sometimes, but the muscle softened and the flesh took over. This is basically uptempo, futuristic R&B with an unmissable sexy touch : it’s teeming with round-shaped sounds, wet textures and gentle aural strokes. The whole movement is mid-paced and light-headed, and it’s clearly a home-listening, or even bed-listening, slow jam album. The tenderness often gets spaced up or angularized, though. The beats sometimes manage
to sound both smooth and rough, easy and intricate, and ghosts of Para’s rap training can be heard everywhere. There’s also hints of 2-step, deep house, IDM and boogie funk, yet it’s a singular, idiosyncratic record, made with an extremely
cohesive approach. It’s an almost serene effort, and it’s certainly generous and loving in the way it unfurls its numerous ideas. This is an album you get deep into, but there’s nothing dramatic to it – it’s just unadultered, voluptuous pleasure.
So fast-forward through the album and discover extracts of "Passion" !

High Powered Boys
From High Powered Boys' Streetwise EP available on May 28th.
High Powered Boys (Bobmo & Surkin) @ Social Club Paris, May 27th, with Just Blaze, Para One, Canblaster & guests !
New High Powered Boys video out next week !
There’s some brand new product coming out from the Marble Studios. Surkin and Bobmo, as the infamous High Powered Boys, just had five hot units churned out from their track plant, packaged together as an EP called Streetwise. And this sure comes from the street, but this is more about the proper streets here : concrete grounds, glass buildings, traffic lights, crazy car horns, tail pipes fumes and screeching tires. All the tunes here exhale pressure and combustion : drums hit like car crashes, bass thump like a giant crowd coming at you when you’re walking the wrong way, synths mime the confusing soundscape of the modern metropolis. This is raw urban expressionist music, made of shocks and obtuse angles more than regular beats and melodies, shunning any kind of sweetness, except for the the serene, early morning classic « Chords ». The four other tracks are obscene and obsessive versions of electrofunk, ballroom and ghetto house, electrified animals designed to rock crowds and minds, or just evil creatures with a distinct sense of groove for the masses of tomorrow.
Tracklist:
1 Mind Games
2 Streetwise
3 The Bim Bam Song
4 The Machine
5 Chords

Bobmo
(MRBL007) Bobmo - The Cliff by Marble Music
As part of the Marble crew, 25-year old Bobmo already took part in the two Marble Players’ release as well as the High Powered Boys’ « Girly/Crash ». After last summer’s « Bring It » EP on* Institubes, he got back to solo work in April with « Hardbells/Northside » on *BNR Trax. And now he’s delivering a stunningly diverse four track EP that both shows unknown facets of his talent, and displays his ever fresher hunger for new grooves and new moods. It’s all about lovely, ravey-hazey climaxes and screwed-up house grooves, severe melodies and happy summery riffs. That’s "The Cliff" EP.
« Deadpoint » starts with quirky gangsta 4/4 beats, then opens up with an austere yet infectious synth melody line getting slighty fucked up as the track goes on. Bold processed 3D snares make the thing even more half-fascistoid, half-disrupting, like a grandiose, crumbling monument. « The Cliff » almost soundslike a codeine house track in the George Issakidis tradition, obsessive and malevolent. But it also definitely feels like a proper Bobmo tune, complete with goofy stratches and half-comical dubby FX. « Apple & Pears » is an electrofunk-based epic focused on a twirly synth euphoria. Female vocal bits add a sexy Bobmo touch. Most likely to become an after hours classic, or even a peak-time hit in certain circles. « Limestone » begins with fake-ethno percussion, then lays down neo-plastic jazzy chords. Cut-up snares and siren blares turn the adventure into a sweet pedestrian groove. The final part gets almost proggy. A beach clubbing jewel.
