Knox

Underneath levels of melodic modernity and deep buried baselines, comes an EP from brother, sister duo KNOX. The Here EP on Sasha’s imprint Last Night on Earth, is a rich slate of electronica at its best, featuring 3 original tracks, with 2 remixes from John Tejada & kuxxan-Suum.

Here will appeal to many different pallets, its foundation is electronica, with dashes of dub, intricate nuances, and ethereal vocals, the track is subtle yet powerful. The John Tejada remix is purely for the dancefloor, and is a sonically luscious house track.

Fault is more of a stripped back rocktronic number, which would sit perfectly amongst the likes of The XX, Portishead and Massive Attack… An epic soundscape with delicate vocals from Nic & Eliza.

Morning is as hypnotic as a lullaby, a sweet song with delicate vocals from Eliza. Gorgeous. And to round off the EP, the guys have enlisted the galactic kuxxan SUUM to remix Here with a wicked array of scratchy beats and bleeps.

Jamie Jones

Jamie Jones launches his new subsidiary label of Hot Creations, HOTTRAX with a three track EP of upfront dance floor business. The label will be dedicated to a more underground dance floor orientated aesthetic, only for the headstrong!

This three track features phenomenal ‘Change’. Jamie has championed it all summer and as soon as you hear it you’ll realize why. It’s a heady hypnotic brew of oscillator-funk and ghetto-groove, arpeggiating synths bubble hypnotically under the rising ebb and flow of the melody as infectious groove drives you on.. the truth is we are all going through changes!

On the flip and Jamie jacks the groove on the ‘Road To The Studio’. Incessant chanting and looped vocals are cleverly layered upon each other creating a impending sense of explosive anticipation as the rhythm effortlessly builds to maximum effect. Finally, the irresistibly charming ‘No Rush’ plays upon retro garage feel while the minor keys serve to create a sense eeriness on the floor. A great closure to a superb three track EP, and what a way to kick off the new label in style. Watch out for HOTTRAX releases in 2013.

Trapmasters

Who are Trapmasters ? The only thing I can tell about this new terror group from Hamburg is that, one night I walked into Hamburg's most famous tiny Golden Pudel Club, birth place of many great underground talents since 1988. It was a night called 'iLL' and I heard a young kid starting to play his set at like 5 in the morning, opening with a track that totally blew away my mind. Until this point I have never heard of anything close to that. A beat that was so minimal and so phat but weird and rocking at the same time, I walked up to him and asked what it was and the dj returned to me saying it was his own new beat.

In the days where Trap is the new backdoor for many dubstep djs and bedroom soundcloud producers, this EP is much more then just a Trap. It combines electronica, minimalism and yes quality Trap in one thing, on a super high production level.
On their first EP you’ll find 4 total different monsters to choose from, already supported by UZ or Baauer.

I'm happy to welcome TRAPMASTERS to the Boysnoize Records crew!

Mixhell x Aeroplane

Brazil's superb collaboration Mixhell, also known as ex-Sepultura drummer Iggor Cavalera, his DJ wife Laima Leyton and long time partner and producer Max Blum, are back with their newest imprint „Exit Wound“ (taken from their forthcoming debut album „Spaces“).
Exit Wound sets the scene of a hypnotic space trip driven by euphoric percussion, groovy bass and smooth vocals by Greg Puciato from hardcore punk band The Dillinger Escape Plan - who gives the track a certain indie, disco funk vein.

The tension grows into a mess of Puciato's screamo perfomance and drops back into the vibey space atmosphere. Everything merges into brilliant indie-electro-mash up served by Mixhell in their own inimitable style.

The pack is completed with three remixes, contributed by power duo Zombie Disco Squad, Swedish bad boys Savage Skulls and last but not least by retro-disco producer Aeroplane.
Zombie Disco Squad dials it down to a more minimalistic well thought out remix and focuses it on rough brooding basslines crossed with haunting vocal bits from the original. Future Techno aspirated with some slight of darkness was created here.
Whilst Aeroplane spins it back to a 80s dreamy retro jam - Casio oldschool synths dipped into a funky electro beat, which gives you the feeling of driving a red Testarossa through Miami while listening to Debbie Deb.
Finally Savage Skulls morphs the original to a ravey dancefloor smasher, framed by heavy stomping kicks and energetic fidget synths.

A track which is built for the crowd and to destroy the crowd.

There's something for every Prog Lovers in here but with a shared element: a massive Prog vibe.

wAFF

The unstoppable wAFF returns to Hot Creations' relentless release schedule displaying once again on Eclipse EP just why he is riding such an incredible wave of hype since the release of his critically acclaimed Rainbows EP on the label earlier this year. With a list of admirers including Luciano, Loco Dice and Sven Vath (who recently included wAFF's Jo Johnson on his 'The Sound Of The 13th Season' compilation), it's safe to say that the 24 year old is most definitely one to watch out for.

With conga rhythms and the sounds of nature penetrating the senses it feels as though we have been transported directly to the heart of the Amazon on title track Eclipse. That is until an incredibly sultry bassline enters the foray and drives this one to the point of dance floor destruction wAFF is becoming so renowned for. After the introduction of a groove-inducing vocal lick and a couple of percussive-led breakdowns later, it seems we have ourselves yet another massive hit for the Hot Creations cartel.

Things don't let up by any means on the flip; in fact if anything the intensity climbs to a point where people will quite literally be hanging from the walls. With a driving, Chicago style high hat pattern, a low-end that is set to push sound-systems to the max and delayed rolling woodblock shots inducing hypnotic waves of climax, Ibiza feels like the young artist doing what he does best.

Both these tracks have been huge for the Hot Creations crew this summer at Paradise and in Ibiza in general..

Proxy

Turbo Recordings presents "Raw," the latest single from the Russian Rave-Czar's debut album, MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES, PT. 1.

During his years of self-imposed exile, Proxy built up an massive armory of untouchable bombs. In his absence, the world failed to show the proper respectful silence, foolishly seeking to fill the void with soulless imitators. Now, he has returned to crush all pretenders and dance solemnly in the piles of ash left behind.

Following the double-barrelled onslaught of "Shut Up!" and "Junk," "Raw" is a concussive blast of pitiless electro destruction. Featuring a chorus of air-raid sirens and a distorted vocal sample heralding the impending breakdown of all civilization, the track is among the biggest Proxy has ever made, which is to say it's among the biggest anyone has ever made. All that's left is to take shelter make your peace with Perun, the Pagan God of Russian Thunder.

Exclusive to this single release is "Cooper," until now a secret weapon Proxy's incredible live arsenal. The cut-up hip-hop sample begins to ask what "the crowd can", before being cut off by a deluge of metallic snares and molten bass, which respond that the crowd's only choice is to do exactly what it's told.

To ensure total digital domination, we're also releasing a series of exclusive remixes, enlisting 20-year-old German techno prodigy Etnik, South African electro-trasher Haezer, and Canadian floor-wreckers St. Mandrew and JFK.

Duke Dumont

TURBO 137 - THE GIVER REMIXES

Turbo Recordings presents four killer remixes of one of its biggest tracks of the year. Featuring Tiga, Lando Kal, Gingy & Bordello, and Locked Groove.

When Turbo put out Duke Dumont's "The Giver", everyone at the label knew it had the potential to become a massive house anthem. So when it actually happened, it was gratifying to learn that a) the label's braintrust wasn't crazy and b) the rest of the world isn't completely out to lunch. With support from Annie Mac, Erol Alkan, Heidi, Diplo, Damian Lazarus, Martyn, Soul Clap, A-Trak and a legion of other big names, plenty of radio play on BBC One, and rave reviews from critics, the track has taken on a life of its own, spending numerous weeks in Beatport's Deep House Top 5.

With this in mind, the label decided to go with its instincts for the remix pack, sticking with some of its best and most exciting in-house talent while also including a respected outsider.

REMIXERS

Turbo boss Tiga turns the Lifestyle Machine up to 11, before snapping the knob off completely with a seven and a half minute epic that is possibly even more anthemic than the original. Turbo obsessives might have noticed that this is only Tiga's second remix for the label since 2005 - after Azari & III's similarly huge "Reckless (With Your Love)" - offering even more evidence of just how significant a release this is for us.

With releases on Hotflush, Rush Hour, and Numbers, Lando Kal has been pushing his sound more and more into the realm of gear-based Detroit-influenced techno. His version of "The Giver" continues in this vein, a tripped-out after-hours workout that's destined to become the highlight of your next warehouse party.

Toronto's Gingy & Bordello are undeniably two of Turbo's most promising rising stars, with a career path seemingly taken out of some fantastic DJ/production duo storybook. Their mix ramps up the BPM and takes things into big-room techno territory. The arrangement is long and strong, and the payoff near the end is subtle and retains the essential ecstatic tone of the original while doing away with the commercial angle. Let Gingy take you on a journey, and then let Bordello take you on a journey. It's the same journey, but still.

Hot Belgian producer Locked Groove is another of the label's emerging New Jack Techno talents. His impressive versatility is fully evident on his contribution, combining elements of hi-NRG 90s eurodance and melancholy ambient techno into something that evokes the yearning heart at the core of Belgium's other greatest export, Technotronic.

Defected presents House Masters Derrick Carter

House Masters Derrick Carter, Derrick selects those lesser-known records that demonstrate the breadth of his musical ability and depth of his house music heritage. Although hugely influential underground jams like 'Squaredancing In A Roundhouse' and 'Where U At?' may not have been commercial successes, but that's not what Derrick is about -- as Derrick puts it: "I'm shut out of the 'hit making', I'm exclusively about booty shaking", and tracks such as 'The Warrior', 'Tripping Amongst The Stars', 'A Hope (Over U)' are indicative of the groove and innate energy which lie at the heart of the very best Derrick Carter productions.

Included here are no fewer than 15 previously unreleased cuts and edits which previously would only have been found in Derrick's own personal record bag or CD wallet; this is the first time that hidden gems and secret weapons such as the 16 minute funk epic of SoCalled's 'Richi', The Innocent's 'Theme From The Blue Cucaracha', DJ Bang's 'Hallelujah' and his personal "private stock" reinterpretations of Freaks' 'Boiling Point' and 'Telefunky' amongst others have ever seen either the light of day or have been available digitally.

Stelios Vassiloudis

Already an exclusive and huge highlight in John Digweed’s DJ sets for the past few months, “Coma”, by the superbly talented Greek producer Stelios Vassiloudis, is now ready for release on Bedrock. It also features prominently in the mix on John Digweed’s forthcoming “Live In London” (4xCD) album.

Both the gloriously epic melodic house style of “Coma” and the more twisted vibe of accompanying track, “No Sleep”, reflect a new supremely dancefloor orientated direction for Stelios Vassiloudis, as he starts work in the new year on the follow-up to his 2011 debut artist album “It Is What It Is”.

These super exciting new tracks, along with his recent output on Bedrock, such as “Hit The Lights” (featured on “Live In Cordoba”) and "What's That?" (a highlight on Bedrock 14 along with his stunning remix of Jemmy's "Quarry Bank") are indicative of what is on the horizon for his highly anticipated new album in 2013.

“These 2 new tracks are a little more epic in scope than the stuff I often play in my sets, but I'm really lucky to have someone as prolific and obliging as John Digweed to test them out for me and share his thoughts.” – Stelios Vassiloudis

Henry Saiz

Cryptozoology, the search for and study of animals whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as the Loch Ness monster and the yeti, is something that Henry Saiz finds deeply intriguing. His love of exoticism and strange natural/organic sounds (his own label is called Natura Sonoris - which means Nature of Sound) provide the fuel for this latest stunning Bedrock release.

“The Cryptozoologist” has an instantly striking, mysterious Andean / Peruvian melodic influence that harks back to cultures shrouded in the mysteries of time, creating a truly haunting track. “Uncharted” is equally hypnotic and enthralling and yet distinctly different. Henry is using a lot of analogue vintage gear to create his music, which is giving him a very distinct sound, a path that will lead to his hotly awaited debut artist album (due out in April 2013) on which he will delve totally into and explore an analogue world (www.wearehenrysaiz.com).

Henry's critically acclaimed “Balance 019” album, released in 2011, was the catalyst for his star potential explode around the globe. His superb collaboration with Guy J (“Meridian”) and his solo track (“La Marea”) for the landmark Bedrock 100 release, were of the highest level of quality and his most recent release, “Our Discovery” (Natura Sonoris), became a huge Ibiza hit this summer, with supporters including John Digweed, Sasha, M.A.N.D.Y., Luciano, Visionquest, Danny Howells and many others. Henry Saiz is undoubtedly an extraordinarily talented young producer who is simply too exciting to be ignored!

Tale Of Us & The/Das

Tale Of Us & The/Das – Fresh Water EP
Established members of the Life and Death crew join forces with a few new recruits to create an emotional journey across a beautiful new landscape of future music.

With the "Fresh Water EP", Life and Death once again bring together a combination of unique musical voices that stretch beyond traditional genres to stake out new territories in contemporary dance music.

Coming out of the gate like a horse on fire, the title track sees Italian duo, Tale Of Us, return to the Life and Death mothership with a new original piece featuring Berlin duo, The/Das. It's a haunting dancefloor monster that won't leave your mind (or body) quickly, even once the music stops. With its throbbing bassline, ethereal synths and that voice that beckons, cooly but urgently, Fresh Water hits its emotional nerve with razor-like precision.

Next up comes the appropriately named Life and Death, a paean to the ethos of the label and a missive to the collective unconsciousness of the world at large. Label veterans Tale Of Us and Clockwork combine their considerable talents here with newcomers The/Das to shoot this very personal statement across the bow of contemporary music. It's not between us and them but life and death, calls out the expressive voice of The/Das' Fabian Fenk, as an epic soundtrack builds and rolls slowly but steadily underneath it. A marching song for a disaffected but impassioned generation, Life and Death is as nuanced and unique as the artists and label behind it. A rallying call for something better lying in wait on the other side of all of our futures.

Last up is the perfect coda for this well rounded emotional journey. The/Das's Keep This gets reworked by Tale Of Us and takes us to a hopeful and happy place that's the perfect finishing point for this story. As Fabian croons to us quickly across the groove Tale Of Us impart their own unique sound throughout it. A sound which is actually not a sound so much as a feeling that the sound evokes. Hard to describe but obvious to feel once it penetrates your ears, it's an emotional connection they make once again, almost effortlessly, as they reinterpret The/Das' beautiful original.

Lee Foss Essential Mix

Coyu Edits

Suara uses to get hundreds of demos every week. Some of them are high quality but there are a few little details that don't fit Suara 100%. Mastercat Coyu have decided to take some of those demo tunes and give them his particular touch. This first volume of edits is very varied. "Flip To The School" is an old school 90's funky house track; "Broke Jane" is also funky but techie as hell; "La Hoja" is a triply percussive monster; "Let Me Do It (Slowly) is an emotive deep house tune and "Filgud" (edit of a Coyu remix previously released on Summer '11) is a mental journey thru finest percussion and sexy grooves. Edits for very different moments of the night, always full of energy and quality beats.

Boody & LE1F

Pls welcome New Yorks finest gems Boody & LE1F - our most recent joint of the BNR-Crew. Both producers, beatmakers, rapper and vocalist, two multitalents all in all. After his murky debut mixtape “Dark York“, LE1F's now hooking up with his long friend Boody to present their first release “Liquid“ EP on Boysnoize Records.
The record opens with "Jellyfish" - deadly, deep kicks sphered by drippy ice rinks. Brilliant balance between low-kicks and driving sirens unleashing the tracks unique shapings. “Buoy“ swipes away into a howling, cryptical and moody underwater action - closing gates, chirping birds and vanishing claps building a dark cavernous tension. As the subs shift from high to low, Boody & LE1F blesse the track with whispered vocals giving everything vogueish breeze.
Next “Soda“ chops up the classic “The Ha Dance“ of Masters at Work into a kunty juke-ballroom mix. Furious “Ha Samples“ winding trough the track as minimalistic footwerk kicks and aqua drops joining the game. LE1F demonstrates his excellent rap skills here and shows you how to run this catwalk! With it's UK Funky rooted percussion and dominant basslines, the New York collaboration takes it to another level with “Sweet Tea“ while Khalif's stargazing performance glides across the track. Following is Cedaa's remix of “Sweet tea“. He loops LE1F's strongest lines “Damn Mama put it down this is way too hot for me!“ and permeating hollow pitched “Oh!“ in the back. His hydraulic mix pumps the original to a one of a kind club monster.
The EP closes with the East Coasts Ballroom beats remix from MikeQ and Divoli S'vere of “Soda“. Together they reconstruct the original to a deadly vogue anthem and bringing the taste of the New Jersey ballroom underground to those who are “in the know“.
As 12“ Exclusive-Track "Born Underwater" will start the EP – a mesmerising booty shaking composition delivered by nobody else than Boody & LE1F.

Proxy

"The Wait Is Over. The World Is Over."
After years of anticipation, Proxy at last presents his debut album, MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES, to be released in two parts to showcase the prolific underground rave-czar's awe-inspiring body of work. Beloved by top DJs and stadium crowds the world over, the undisputed master of the "Turn It Up to 11" movement has created a work that harnesses the spirit of pure rave culture, with over 20 tracks that span and elevate countless genres without regard for trends or ephemeral influences.
MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES is the product of an artist who forged a sound in complete isolation, with visa problems leading him to entrench himself in the middle of nowhere in his native Russia, continuing in the UK rave tradition of his Essex-spawned idols, The Prodigy. Years in the making, it features a massive stockpile of new material, as well as Proxy classics both renowned ("Raven") and unreleased ("Abyss").
PT.1 opens the siege with flag-bearing marches ("Raja Ganja"), imperial air-raid bangers ("Raw"), and unhinged breakbeat madness ("Junk"), Meanwhile, PT. 2 forces an unconditional surrender with a mix of acid ("Audio 15"), ambient ("Nanomed"), Eastern-flavored pop ("Coke"), and hip-hop inflected head-nodders ("9000"). The disparate pieces converge like enormous tectonics recombining into a monolithic nation-statement, one worthy of one of the most talented producers of his generation.
MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES PT. 1 out November 6th, 2012. PT. 2 out February 12th, 2013. Released internationally on Turbo Recordings, and on Dim Mak in North America.

Clouds

Turbo Recordings presents the latest EP from white-hot Scots Clouds. Featuring a remix by Truss.
Barely into their twenties, Clouds have rapidly evolved from world-class stadium-wrecking maximalists to serious talents featured in sets by techno heavyweights like Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing, and Marcel Dettman. Their latest EP finds the Scottish duo absorbing the modern UK dance landscape, showing off their exponentially expanding range and proving they can produce bombs for the biggest rooms in virtually any setting.
For the remix, we turned to fellow United Kingdomer Truss, who has produced killer techno both as half of Donor/Truss (we're not entirely sure which), and as a solo artist, earning support and hot chart-love from the likes of Perc, Silent Servant, and Tommy Four Seven.

Lee Foss & MK feat Anabel Englund

Label head Lee Foss calls upon No.1 American house producer MK to collaborate on this knock out release, featuring the stunning voice of L.A’s Anabel Englund. On the flip Lee goes solo to deliver two solid tracks like only he can.

The high voltage ‘Electricity’ kicks things off with the sensational voice of Anabel Englund leading the way. The deep, slow grooves ride effortlessly through the track with a breath-taking break down filled with electric bolts and melodic synth keys.

‘Goodnight Moon’ is the second on offer from Lee and Marc and boasts a heavy bass, beautiful synths patterns and infectious groove. The atmosphere in the track is filled withlayers of intricate percussions and luscious melodies, while the interesting vocals make this really stand out from the rest.

Over on the B-side Lee takes the reins with ‘Could Be’, effortlessly swarming the mind with soaring synths, soft R n’B style vocals and lo-slung driving bass lines, while the trippy keys are destined to hypnotize you on the dancefloor. Rounding off ‘B5 The Drinks’ is aimed straight at the dancefloor. Packed full of groove with an intoxicating bassline, the high-pitched warbling keys, vocals and crowd noises add a new dimension and make this a real party track.

Marc Kinchen aka MK is an undeniable legend when it comes to house music. Not only has he been on the scene for over 20 years but he created a whole new sound with huge releases such as ‘Burning’ on Area 10 and ‘Always feat. Alana’ on Union City Recordings. The past few years have seen MK remix artists such as Ellie Goulding and Lana Del Ray with releases and remixes on high profiles labels including his huge remix of Amirali’s ‘Just An Illusion on the mighty Crosstown Rebels. His remix of the unforgettable ‘Forward Motion’ is also due to be released on Hot Creations next week, which is the reason Lee and Marc came to work together. Lee Foss, member of Hot Natured, is amongst those that pioneered the sound that’s is dominating the electronic music scene today. There is no doubt that this collaboration would be one to shout about!

Kurtz & Bomber

Having grabbed people’s attention with their debut, beautifully haunting, incredibly infectious, vocalized “Never Sleeping” - the opening track on CD2 of the current, critically acclaimed “Bedrock 14” compilation LP - Kurtz & Bomber return with the even more impressive “Work On Me EP”.

The wealth of artists involved for Bedrock 14 was truly amazing, with the 2012 label compilation capturing the essence of why electronic dance music is such an exciting prospect right now by showcasing amazing underground talent, both established and new. John Digweed’s ability to discover exciting new prospects is unrivalled and Kurtz & Bomber, a collaborative project of Troy Kurtz & Panic Bomber (Richard Haig) from the USA is a perfect example.

Here, Kurtz & Bomber show their immense potential once again, with the strutting tech bounce of “Work On Me”, the superbly lush vocalised “Such A Rush” (bringing back memories of Balearic legends The Beloved at their best) and the heart-warming, euphoric “Forever Forever”.

Once again, Bedrock raises the bar with a new duo that will surely be on many people’s radar from now on. In this day and age to not only survive as an independent label, but also to flourish and constantly evolve by introducing new talent and as well as pushing established artists to their creative best, is something that should be applauded.
